The

Sisterhood

Project

In today's society, many young women are dealing with conflicts related to social, emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental health. These girls are navigating through their issues without any guidance or positive support.  In our new initiative The Sisterhood Project we are connecting with positive and influential role models in low-income communities to work on one for a duration of 12 months with an individual teen girl.

We are seeking passionate and committed individuals to peer with our teens in hopes to build a stronger community of women and develop future leaders in society.

Let's all make a promise to change our future for the better. Join our Sisterhood Project and help guide youth to success instead of digressing.

All of our Sisterhood Project relationships are community-based.  Community-based mentoring relationships involve one-on-one outings and activities, doing things the mentor and mentee enjoy. Each relationship is matched accordingly through our program coordinator and a convenient schedule is developed by the mentor and mentee. The Sisterhood Project holds monthly meetups to encourage participation in team-building activities and workshops.

Each Mentor is required to meet face to face for at least 4 hours a month with their Mentee, but are encouraged to speak via text, phone, or email weekly to offer support and guidance on daily challenges.

Did You Know?

Studies show that children who have role models are more likely to improve in school and in their relationships with family and friends, and less likely to skip school or use illegal drugs or alcohol. Students who are successful in school are less likely to drop out, abuse drugs, or commit crimes.
